Criminal Justice Society

The Criminal Justice Society is a student organization that is closely associated with the Criminal Justice Department. The goals of the Society include promoting professional contact between students of Criminal Justice and Agencies.

Activities include a variety of guest speakers, an annual career fair, socials, field trips. Guest speakers have come from Federal Agencies (FBI, US Marshalls, Customs, DEA) as well as State and Local Departments. Also, field trips have included visits to the prison in Angola, to the K9 training center, to the Forensic Laboratory.

Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences

The Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences organizes a once a year Nationwide Conference where research is presented from throughout the U.S. and throughout the world. The best research papers are published.

Traditionally, faculty members present papers at the Conference, as well as a selected team from the Criminal Justice Society.
