Minors
Earning a minor from the Department of Criminal Justice is a great way to prepare you for a career in law, social work, the sciences, anthropology, and more.
We offer a minor in criminal justice and a minor in applied forensic sciences, which is a collaboration between our department and the Department of Sociology, Anthropology, and Child & Family Studies.
Requirements to Earn Your Minor
All minors require at least 18 hours of coursework, six hours of which must be at the 300 or 400 level. At least six credit hours must be taken at UL Lafayette. You must have a 2.0 cumulative GPA with no more than one D in your minor courses to complete your minor. You must also declare your intention to earn the minor before you apply for graduation.
If you plan to count some courses toward both your major and your minor, that must be discussed with your advisor and described in the catalog.
