Dear Graduate Students and Graduate Faculty

The Graduate School and the Department of Biology are hosting Dr. Sara Bombaci from Colorado State University on Thursday, January 26th, after rescheduling last Fall. As part of her visit, Dr. Bombaci will lead a lunch and learn workshop for grad students and faculty about diversity statements -- how to craft them and how to evaluate them -- that is informed by her research aimed at advancing equity in hiring practices in higher education. You can learn more about her work in the April 2022 issue of BioScience. Whether you're a grad student planning for a career in academia or industry, a department head thinking about upcoming faculty hiring, or a faculty member who evaluates applicants or is preparing students for the job market, this workshop will prepare you with best practices for crafting and evaluating a diversity statement. Below are the details.
