Criminal Justice Courses
The Criminal Justice curriculum we offer at UL Lafayette includes a number of courses with a variety of approaches and issues, from community policing to a more intensive analysis of areas such as management, comparative criminal justice, research methods and community crime prevention.
In order to obtain this degree, you must take 36 hours in Criminal Justice and must also earn an 18 hour minor in another field that is in some way related to criminal justice or your career interests. We also require courses in such areas as math, English, modern languages, history, behavioral science, computer science, statistics, the arts, communication and biological and physical science.
Under the new core curriculum, the following concentration of courses is required for a Bachelor's degree:
- Criminal Justice; 11 courses
- English; 4 courses
- Natural Sciences; 3 courses
- Math; 2 courses
- History; 2 courses
- Foreign Language; 3 courses
- Liberal Arts; 5 courses
- Other courses; 5 courses
- Electives; 6 courses
- Total Courses, 41.
